Sacred Heart Church reopens
The Bishop of Derry, Dr Seamus Hegarty welcomed a large congregation on Sunday 30th August to the dedication of the new altar in the century-old church. Describing the church as a "microcosm of the entire community of Omagh".

Baby Lucy
On the 4th December Karen, who was injured in the Omagh bombing, gave birth to Lucy in Altnagelvin Hospital. Lucy and her parents survived the bomb - they were in Kells shop in Market Street when the bomb exploded.

New York fundraising
Committee members from the Omagh Relief Fund of New York handed over a cheque for $129,000 to members of Omagh District Council, having organised numerous fundraising events in the city.

Donation of £20,000

A United States politician yesterday offered hope to two grief-stricken communities when he visited Omagh and met victims of last August's Real IRA bomb. Governor of Colorado Bill Owens presented the Omagh Fund with £31,250 from the Worldwide Ireland Fund
