Unveiling of Window of Hope marks anniversary

THERE was a large turnout for the 11th anniversary of the Omagh bomb on Sunday which coincided with the unveiling of a stained glass window in the library.
Families and relatives of those who died or who were injured gathered first at the Memorial Gardens where they laid a single rose or a bouquet of flowers before making their way to the library at Spillar's Place.
The commemoration was marked by the simultaneous unveiling of stained glass windows in Omagh, Madrid, Buncrana and Claudy.
The Window of Hope at Omagh library had been kept under wraps whilst the artists completed their painstaking work but it was revealed to the families on Sunday.
This had been a project organised by the Shared City Project and supported by Omagh Support and Self Help Group.
Families who have been affected by the Claudy and Omagh bombs had been working on the design of the window over the past few years to ensure it symbolises those who lost their lives, were injured and were affected by both bombings.
Four identical windows were designed for placing in the Central Library in Omagh, Scoil Iosagain Primary School in Buncrana, the Diamond Centre, Claudy, and Madrid.
