Sell-out concert for Omagh Fund

'Let the healing begin'
SOME of the greatest figures in the local music business over the past thirty years and from the contemporary scene will come together for a concert in the Royal Arms Hotel next Tuesday evening to generate revenue for the Omagh Memorial Fund.
A large turnout is expected for the concert which will feature such names as Dominic Kirwan, Arty McGlynn, Juliet Turner, Philomena Begley,
Tom Sweeney, Rock Stewart, Frank Chisum, Speedy Hamilton, and Brian Coll.
The cross-community event is the most recent show business reaction to the Omagh atrocity; such has been the interest in the concert that tickets, priced £10 each, sold out well in advance.
St. Eugene's Brass and Reed band will play the introduction, and Eden Pipe Band will play at the interval with both bands playing in unison at the close of the evening.
The show which starts at 8.00 p.m. (sharp) will be compered by Highland Radio's Pio McCann and promises an amazing night of entertainment.
The theme of the concert is 'Omagh Together Again Let the Healing Begin' and organisers have stressed that far from dividing the people of Omagh, the atrocity has united them.
All of the artistes are giving of their time voluntarily and free of charge, and Dai Watterson, who is playing a central role in the organisation of the concert, has extended his gratitude to all of the artists.
The concert will end with all of the performers on stage together for a rendition of 'Amazing Grace. The organisers have stressed that they are working to a very tight schedule and that the show must begin at 8.00 p.m.
