RUC INVESTIGATOR FLEES
RUC investigator flees
The detective who led off the Omagh bombing investigation, Eric Anderson, fled his home after having been told he was on an IRA 'hit list', it was confirmed this week. This followed claims of IRA spying at Stormont.
The former Chief Superintendent, who retired last year, had promised to catch the Omagh bombers in the immediate aftermath of the atrocity.
In a long RUC career Anderson had been responsible for jailing many republican and loyalist paramilitaries and in the 1980s he led the RUC's anti-racketeering section.
