RUC release man questioned on Omagh bombing
A MAN arrested on Monday in connection with the Omagh bomb investigation, was released the following day after questioning at Gough Barracks in Armagh. A daily paper had reported that the South Armagh man, suffered an attack of conscience as the vehicle in which he was travelling was routinely stopped by the police.
The newspaper alleged that he began to say things about the Omagh bombing which attracted the attention of the RUC officer.
He was then taken to Gough Barracks.
Police yesterday confirmed that a man in his 40s was arrested and taken to Gough Barracks for questioning, however, he was released on Tuesday without charge.
