LEISURE CENTRE TO REMAIN OPEN DURING INQUEST
Leisure Centre to remain open during forthcoming inquests
THROUGHOUT the Omagh bomb inquest, the following areas within the town's Leisure Centre will remain unaffected:
o Swimming Pool and Flume Complex
o Major hall
o Creche facility (location temporarily moved to the squash court)
o Spinning Studio (location temporarily moved to the squash court)
o Outdoor facilities
o Cafeteria
o Changing rooms.
Areas directly affected by the Inquest will include the Minor Hall, creche facilities and studio and the top corridor.
An increased level of security will be experienced within the building and all bags will be checked on arrival. Only the main entrance can be used.
The Inquest will commence at 11am on Wednesday (September 6) and will sit on weekdays (11am to 1pm and from 2-4pm), finishing at 1pm on Fridays. It is expected to last approximately four weeks.
A spokesperson for the Leisure Centre said: We would appreciate your cooperation during this difficult time in relation to the security checks, car parking restrictions and restricted access to various parts of the building.
"Noise levels will need to be kept at a minimum, particularly in corridors and circulation areas. Your continued support during the Inquest would be appreciated."
It is hoped to have the whole building back in operation by the end of October.
