August saw thousands of people gather in the town to mark the first anniversary of last August's bombing.
Over 10,000 packed the town's streets as many of he injured and bereaved were joined by clergy and politicians for a moving and poignant ceremony.
As ten minutes past three approached, the lilt of a pipers lament faded as communities remembered the 29 victims, the unborn twins and the hundreds who were injured in the atrocity.
During a minutes silence, many stood with heads bowed, others in tears, as the memories of a year ago were privately reflected upon.
At the same time, Buncrana was also remembering its three young victims and two visiting Spaniards who were killed in the bombing.
Representatives from Omagh, Buncrana and Spain read messages in English, Irish and Spanish before clergy of various denominations offered words of comfort to those touched by the tragedy.
The ceremony was attended by former secretary of State Mo Mowlam, the Repubic's Foreign Affairs Minister, Liz O'Donnell, Security Minister, Adam Ingram, SDLP leader John Hume and Church of Ireland Bishop, Dr James Mehaffey.
In a closing prayer to the ceremony, the Chairman of Omagh Council, Allan Rairiey asked that political and community leaders be granted "wisdom and sensitivity" in their efforts to help people live with one another.
Manchester United arrived to play Omagh Town in a special friendly match in aid of the Memorial Fund, receiving a warm reception from 7,000 fans, six days after West London Giants Chelsea came to town. United thrilled the crowd with a power packed and stylish display to run out 9-0 winners.
