Council opens book of Condolences
OMAGH District Council has opened a book of condolences for victims of the recent Paddington Rail Disaster.
The book was officially opened yesterday (Wednesday) by the Chairman of Omagh District Council, Allan Rainey and the Chief Executive, John
McKinney, in memory of the victims of the October 5th Paddington Rail Disaster. They were joined by Michael Gallagher and Stanley, members of Omagh Self-Help group.
At the signing, Cllr Rainey, speaking on behalf of the people of Omagh, said he had relayed to the people of Reading and London 'the heartfelt sorrow being experienced by all in Omagh as a result of the tragic accident'.
He added that the opening of the special book was an indication of the sympathy being experienced by all.
The condolence book will be left at the town's Tourist information Centre for two weeks to allow member of the public to add their messages of sympathy and support for the victims and their families.
The Tourist Information Centre is open to the public from Monday - Friday only, 9.00am-5.00pm for anyone wishing to sign the book.
