Man accused of bombing

POLICE investigating the Omagh bombing, are to receive reports from telecommunications experts regarding the use of mobile phones on August 15th last, the Special Criminal Court in Dublin heard this week.
The probe was revealed when Colm Murphy (46), a building contractor and publican, originally from Co Armagh but with an address at Jordan's Corner, Ravensdale, Co Louth, appeared before the court on Tuesday.
The married father of four is charged with conspiring in Dundalk with another person to cause an explosion likely to endanger life or cause serious damage to property between 13th and 16th August last year.
He is also charged with membership of an unlawful organisation on August 14 last.
Supt Thomas Flannery, of Carrickmacross Garda Station, told the court that the inquiry was one of the biggest and most complex cross-border investigations ever carried out by the Gardai and RUC.
Extensive inquiries were still continuing on both sides of the border, he said.
"Very complex inquiries have been carried out in relation to the movement of mobile telephones on August 15th, the day of the Omagh bombing" the Superintendent added.
The accused was remanded on continuing bail of £100,000 until July 13th.
