At the lunch at the Mellon Country Inn on Monday last, John McGirr, Chairman of the Omagh Vintners Association, presented a cheque for �20,770, for the Omagh Fund, to John McKinney, Chief Executive of Omagh District Council. The money was raised by a draw at the Association's annual dinner and by contributions by the Silverbirch Hotel, Northwest Liquor, the Federation of the Retail Licensed Trade, Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland drinks industry, including Gilbeys, Bass and Dillon Bass, Guinness and C + C. The Chairman John McGirr expressed the hope that Association member J. Maguire would soon be back in business.
