NEXT WEEK sees the unveiling of the works of art created over the past few months using the thousands of flowers left at the bomb scene.
Hours of painstaking and often times emotional work has culminated in beautiful art pieces which go on display in Omagh Library from Tuesday.
After the 15th August bomb, floral tributes poured in from all over the world turning the streets of Omagh into a riot of colour.
Not wanting to lose such beauty, it was decided to collect all the flowers and turn them into a work of art under the guidance of textile designer, Carole Kane.
The exhibit titled 'Petals of Hope Rays of Light' features hand-made paper decorated with these flowers, petals and leaves.
There are three large pieces made by primary and post-primary schools from the Omagh, Buncrana and Strabane areas schools which had in some way been affected by the bomb, either through loss and injury of schoolmates or parents.
Following the exhibition, which is expected to last for four weeks, the three large pieces will be given to Madrid, Buncrana and one will remain in Omagh.
There are a number of smaller pieces which will be given to each family who had someone die in the bomb.
Relatives of the bereaved had a private viewing of the exhibit yesterday evening (Wednesday) and the injured will have a private viewing tonight (Thursday).
