CASTLE RECEPTION FOR BOMB VICTIMS

Castle reception for bomb victims

AROUND one thousand people attended a major reception in Hillsborough Castle on Tuesday night, organised by the British Government to pay tribute to the Omagh bomb victims.
Bereaved families, dozens of the people injured, emergency services and police and community groups were invited to the private gathering.
Local district councillors were also among those in attendance at the Hillsborough reception, which is believed to be one of the biggest informal functions ever organised in the aftermath of an atrocity in the North.
Stormont Minister, John McFall, who hosted the event, said he wanted to give official recognition to the injured and relatives of the 29 who were killed and to thank the emergency services and all who had helped the town in the healing process since.
