SUPPORT FOR COUNCILLORS
Support for Councillors
DEAR SIR - I wish through your newspaper, to tender my full and unequivocal support to the actions of Omagh Councillors Johnny McLaughlin and Anne Gormley, who stated in no uncertain terms their conscientious objections to the bold presence of Councillor Francis Mackey at last Tuesday night's full meeting of Council.
Councillor Mackey's pathetic attempt to defend his position in Council was as transparent as his miserable endeavours at copying the Sinn Fein
leadership's tactic down the years in refusing to condemn the Provisional IRA bombings.
It is equally contemptible since it was the Sinn Fein vote that put him into council in the first place.
These two highly principled councillors took the only route open to them in all conscience, and said what had to be said.
Council members may have a short memory, the rest of us do not.
Yours respectively,
DERRY RD. RESIDENT
