WALK OF HOPE
THEY CAME in their hundreds to walk together for peace and for hope in a town still grieving from the Omagh Bomb.
They assembled at Omagh Integrated Primary School on Sunday for a touching public display of hope for the future of Omagh and its people.
The event was organised by the Parents Council of Omagh Integrated Primary School whose pupils and that of Drumragh College participated.
Parents, grandparents and family members and friends of the pupils also helped swell the crowd to over 300.
They walked the solitary distance to the local bus depot car park where Aidan Bunting, one of the founder members of Omagh Integrated Primary School, was there to welcome them.
Mr Bunting also introduced four children from each of the schools to share their thoughts and prayers with the assembled crowd.
Eric Bullick, Headmaster of Omagh Integrated Primary School led the crowd in singing two school songs:- 'Bind us Together' and 'Peace is flowing Like a River'.
A spokesperson for the Integrated Primary School said they were pleased with the turnout and thanked all those who participated for their support.
She also extended thanks to all those involved in making the event such a success and to the children for taking part.
