BOMB VICTIMS INVITED TO VISIT TRANQUIL PLACE
LINSFORT, Buncrana and Omagh have had many links over the years - in fact back as far as 1928.
The Loreto Sisters in Omagh have had a holiday House in Linsfort, which has been a retreat for many convent pupils and staff over the years. Many older readers of this paper will recall an exciting happy day, the annual school outing, spent on the shores of Lough Swilly.
It is a Loreto Sister who has strong links with Omagh who is now calling on the "troubled people of Omagh", to come to their house in Linsfort to spend some hours or a day in a place of serenity and tranquillity.
Sr Anne McDaid, who was Principal of Loreto Grammar in Omagh for fifteen years, now runs the Loreto House in Linsfort and has extended a warm welcome to anyone from Omagh who is experiencing trauma because of the bomb.
Like so many others, Sr Anne was devastated by the bomb as she knew and loved so many people in the town and she extends her sincere sympathy to the pupils, past pupils, their parents, the business people, the hospital staff and all who were injured by the 15th August atrocity. "No words can express our deepest feelings" said the former principal.
She went on to say that time to be with each other can inspire hope and will lead people through the pain. "A visit to this place apart Loreto House Linsfort will give you the opportunity to experience peace and hope" said Sr Anne.
