HUGE MOTORCYCLE EVENT TO BENEFIT OMAGH FUND
MOTORCYCLISTS from throughout the area have been urged to join in a special charity event this weekend aimed at boosting the fund for the victims of the Omagh bombing.
Over 200 bikers from the greater Dublin area are expected to arrive in the town on Sunday afternoon.
And many more from Omagh and the surrounding area have already pledged their support to the venture.
This week, local organiser Cyril Walker has called on local motorcyclists to accompany the group on the last stage of their journey from Monaghan to Omagh.
A keen motorcyclist and fund raiser himself, Mr Walker this week said upwards on 50 cyclists from the town had already planned joining the event.
The group will leave Dublin early on Sunday morning, and will reassemble again in Monaghan before completing the journey north.
They are expected to arrive in Omagh sometime around 1.30, where a wreath will be laid at the bomb site before members travel on to Killyclogher Parish Hall where refreshments will be provided.
Those hoping to join the group will leave Omagh en route for Monaghan earlier in the day.
"Anyone interested in joining us should come to Drumragh Car Park at 10am on Sunday morning from where we will travel to Monaghan" added Mr Walker.
