Vintage car drive for peace
ORGANISERS of a vintage car drive for peace through the streets of Omagh hope to raise a substantial sum to help those injured in the August 15th bombing.
Committee members at Dun Uladh Cultural Heritage Centre hope owners of vintage cars, tractors and motor cycles will lend their support to the idea to raise funds for those hurt in the blast.
The event will be run on Saturday, 3rd October, with vehicles assembling at Dun Uladh at 12 noon.
A special driving skills competition is being organised at the Ballinamullan Road venue before vehicles set off through the town centre.
Following the rally, local singing star Dominic Kirwan will present certificates to those who took part in the fund-raising event.
Later in the evening, an old time dance featuring special appearances by local artistes will be held in the centre. It is hoped this will also be well supported.
Proceeds from all events will go to benefit local groups in their efforts to help the injured.
