DISGUSTED AT MOVE BY COMPENSATION AGENCY
Disgusted at move by Compensation Agency
I am disgusted at the continued harassment of Rosemary Ingram by the so called faceless Government agencies, who hide anonymously behind the NIO with their apparent lack of compassion or concern.
Having plucked a so-called 'estimate price', they are now appealing against the award of a more qualified body, the High Court.
I wish to remind the agency that we are talking about human beings and not some component or building. This woman is a good wife, mother and an upstanding citizen of this country. She has a right to be protected under the law.
On the day of the bomb, she was directing traffic away from entering the Market Street entrance to the town and was about 20 ft from the bomb car and suffered the full blast of the same.
Not only did she save life: She gave help while grievously injured, probably instinctively, until medical help was sought.
When she was brought to Tyrone County, an assessment of her injuries found that they were profound. This coupled with unerasable memories and trauma of the unholy day.
Why did the Compensation Agency's lawyers demand to see her injuries, which were well documented. All they did was humiliate and degrade her.
The lawyers should have been qualified to know that this amounted to administrative and governmental torture. This is an abuse of her human rights and I would question if her treatment by them was lawful or legal.
Finally, this is a white-wash by the upper echelons of power to try and prevent Mrs Ingram setting a precedent for what should rightfully be in place of such victims.
I do hope she keeps her word and fights on and I will support her in any way.
