LAST LAUGH A HILARIOUS TREAT

Last laugh a hilarious treat

I just wish to commend and congratulate the organisers of "The Last Laugh International Comedy Festival', which was held in Omagh recently.
It was a real breath of fresh air to see such a well-organised festival, featuring genuine, quality talent, actually taking place in the 'forgotten' town of Omagh.
Perhaps the arts committee that allegedly resides at the Omagh District Council headquarters could learn something from the festival.
It would be tremendous if this comedy festival snowballed into a big, annual event that could attract visitors and tourists to Omagh and put it on the map as a town of enjoyment and fun rather that just as the town where 'that bombing' took place.
The events of 15th August 1998, were truly horrific and will cast a shadow over Omagh for generations to come, but I am sure that even those affected by the events of that day, either directly or indirectly, would agree that the town must move forward and that the people must indeed learn to laugh again.
