ONE DAY IN AUGUST
One day in August
It was one day in August
as the summer sun shone down
when the terrorists did their deeds
in Market Street in Omagh town.
Many lives were changed forever
many lives were taken away
on that Saturday afternoon
on a tragic August day.
Ten years have gone by
and yet memories are vivid still
of all the devastation
and those who were killed.
But the future's looking brighter
since those sad dark times
in this new peaceful beginning
new rays of hope now shine.
