Stars shell out for Omagh fund

STARS of stage, screen and the sporting arena dug into their pockets to help the victims of the Omagh bombing at a special St Patrick's eve gala dinner, held in the plush surroundings of London's Savoy Hotel.
Some �6,000 was raised for the Omagh Victims Legal Trust at a collection during the evening with guests pledging even more support in the future.
Around 400 celebrities, sporting heroes, politicians and business people from Ireland and Britain attended the Mayor Ken Livingstone's gala event to kick off the capital's St Patrick's Day celebrations in style.
Campaigner Bob Geldof took the opportunity to ask the Irish community in Britain to help the families of the Omagh bomb victims to bring those responsible to justice.
The Trust has already raised �1 million but another �500,000 is still needed.
