Families urge Fulton to hand over his tapes
FAMILIES of victims of the Omagh bomb have called on double agent Kevin Fulton,to hand over secret tape recordings of his MI5 and Special Branch handlers to Ombudsman Nuala O'Loan.
This follows reports that Fulton was considering handing over the tapes to deflect Ronnie Flanagan's comments on his credibility.
The former agent says he has secretly recorded as many as 27 conversations with MI5, Special Branch and British Army handlers over a 20-year career with his handlers.
Mr Fulton's threat comes after the chief constable branded him a 'Walter Mitty' type character and claimed information passed to security forces had been discredited.
Fulton has already leaked a copy of one tape to the media and is threatening to release more.
Lawerence Rush has dismissed the chief constable dismissal of Fulton as a 'Walter Mitty' type character.
Mr Rush said "Ronnie Flanagan's initial reaction was that Kevin Fulton was some type of Walter Mitty, but an agent doesn't get an Al security grading if he is not credible.
"The facts are than Kevin Fulton told police that something was to happen in Omagh three days before the bombing"
"This has been a dirty war and innocent people have been allowed to die".
Mr Rush went on "If Kevin Fulton or anyone else has information that could help solve Omagh then they should come forward now".
