THE man behind the Police Ombudsman's report into the Omagh bomb investigation has said it is not too late to catch the bombers.
On the BBC Spotlight programme last night (Wednesday), Martin Bridger, who is the Ombudsman's deputy director of investigations, was speaking less than 24 hours after a man was convicted of plotting to cause the explosion.
Mr Bridger said despite mistakes made by the police in the North he believed the investigation could still bring the bombers to court.
"I think there were early opportunities that were lost," he said.
"But from everything I've seen over the last few months, I think there is still a very real prospect there that these people could be brought to justice."
