Forces within security services are running the bomb case Lawrence Rush

Agents of the state are trying to destroy any possibility of anyone being prosecuted for murdering my wife
SPEAKING after the meeting Lawrence Rush said the Ombudsman's team had found that Ronnie Flanagan and Special Branch had been accused of failing to do their duty to protect the people of Omagh.
He said this had vindicated his claims that the truth had not been told about the Omagh bomb.
He said he had told Mrs O'Loan that he was extremely grateful for the action taken by her office and the manner in which it had been conducted
He said it was quite clear that Special Branch had failed to pass on vital information which could have led to the apprehension of the bombers on August 15th.
He said of also great importance was the revelation that two databases had been used by police in investigating the Omagh bomb but only one was given to the Ombudsman's office.
PREVENTED
"The evidence proved beyond reasonable doubt that Ronnie Flanagan could have prevented the Omagh bomb but he did not do so to protect an informer".
Lawrence said he believed the Omagh bomb could have been prevented. "It is an absolute tragedy but there stark reality is that the Omagh bomb need never have happened. My wife Libbi and all the others need never have died" he added.
Condemning the role of Special Branch in the whole controversy, Lawrence said They are a law on to themselves and seem answerable to no-one. SINCE the murder of his wife Libbi in the Omagh bomb three years ago Lawrence Rush has always insisted that the truth was not being told.
He has always been a thorn in the side of many who wanted the memory of the awful atrocity to fade the families of the other victims, and those in authority who did not like his probing questions.
Lawrence is deeply suspicious of the events before and after the bomb which killed 29 people and two unborn children on that fateful day three years ago.
"I believe there are forces at work belonging to the security services that are running this case. I believe the Special Branch of the RUC together with other agents of the state, are trying to destroy any possibility of anyone being prosecuted for murdering my wife," said Lawrence.
RESOLVE
I say to the Real IRA and the security services that they under estimate my resolve. It is obvious to everyone that the so called Real IRA is controlled by the state and the state knows more about the Omagh bombing than they are telling us.
Determined to find the truth, whatever the cost, Lawrence hired leading British counsel Michael Mansfield QC. The barrister also believed the families of the victims and his client in particular, were not being told the whole truth.
He has attended the trials in Dublin involving Real IRA suspect Colm Murphy and Liam Campbell who was found guilty of membership of the proscribed organisation.
"I have a table full of questions, answers, debates. I'm looking for every scrap of information. I've learned a lot about informers. I know these people have been very successful for the RUC."
Referring to a lawsuit which is being brought by the families against five men alleged to be associated with the Real IRA Lawrence said "The work of British dirty tricks and security service underworld makes me sick. We are doing their dirty work by taking legal action against a bunch of impotent fanatics who serve no one's cause. In Omagh we were bombed by the RIRA and were abandoned by the forces of the state."
