TYRONE COUNTY IS VITAL TO OUR COMMUNITY

Tyrone County is vital to our community

I was shocked and very annoyed to read in your paper and to see it on television about the downgrading of the Tyrone County Hospital.
It has been downgraded too much already when the maternity was transferred to the Erne at Enniskillen. We were lucky to have our hospital when Omagh was devastated by that bomb on 15th August 1998. There were so many dead, injured and the doctors and nurses worked non-stop in caring and dedication until they were exhausted. It is too soon to forget that day. Our hospital is first class and every patient is attended to with extreme care and attention.,
Mr Hayes, were you in Omagh that day and did you visit our, hospital?
We want our hospital. Only for a foolish idea to move the maternity to the Erne children would not be born on their journey to Enniskillen.
I know how caring our hospital is. I may not be here to write this letter had the County not saved my life. I was rushed in to the hospital unconscious some time ago. Thank you Tyrone County Hospital for saving my life.
