MANDELSON DONATION TO OMAGH FUND
Mandelson donation to Omagh fund
THE fund established, to bring private prosecutions against the Omagh bombers has benefited indirectly from Peter Mandelson's departure.
The former Secretary of State who quit the post last week following passport for favours affair donated his fee for an article he wrote in The Sunday Times newspaper.
In the article, the former Minister claimed he did not lie over the incident which led to him resigning from his post last Wednesday.
Mr Mandelson did not disclose the sum involved. But in a footnote to the extensive article at the weekend, he said the money would be donated to the campaign to prosecute the Omagh bombers.
