GIVING A DAY TO OMAGH
Giving a day to Omagh
Dear Sir or Madam,
On behalf of the Christian reconciliation group known as the Clonard/Fitzroy Fellowship I wish, through your newspaper, to say how much we appreciated the warm welcome we received when about thirty of us visited Omagh on Saturday, 14th November.
As well as enjoying a pleasant shopping session, we were delighted to make contact with people involved in the town's inter-church forum and the traders' association. It was especially impressive and heartening that some of those injured or traumatised by the August bombing were also there to greet us.
Among many other purchases by individuals, the Fellowship acquired a lovely free-standing candle holder in the form of a tree. The tree has already featured in our respective church services, and its light encourages us to continue doing what we can to banish the darkness from our society and the world.
