Gaming machines proceeds donated to Omagh Fund

THE OMAGH BOMB memorial fund featured in a court prosecution this week, when a solicitor suggested that proceeds from the sale of a gaming machine and its contents be donated to the Fund.
Defence Solicitor, Dara Montague, said her client, Thomas Logue, of Pinefields Walk, Omagh, had lost one of his daughters to the bomb and she suggested that when deciding a charity, the Omagh Fund should be considered.
Logue admitted allowing a gaming machine in his Derry Road, "Nite Bite" premises and also the use of the machine which did not have the name and the address of the supplier or the manufacturer's serial number.
He was fined £100 on each of the charges detected on March 5th last
The Court heard the sum of £267 was found inside the machine after it was seized by police.
Miss Montague said her client had been given the machine by another person. She suggested that the Omagh Memorial Fund should be considered when deciding on a charity for the proceeds from the sale of the gaming machine, together with the money found inside. She revealed this would be appropriate in view of the fact Mr Logue had lost a daughter to the Omagh Bomb.
RM, Paul McRandal, ruled that the proceeds should be divided equally between the Omagh Fund , and the local branch of Action Cancer.
