BELGIAN EVENT IN AID OF OMAGH FUND

Belgian event in aid of Omagh Fund

SOME of Ireland's finest traditional players will come together later this month in Belgium to raise funds for the victims of the Omagh bombing.
The star-studded seisiun will bring together many of the country's top performers from the world of folk and traditional music -including local guitarist, Artie McGlynn.
Sharing the bill at the 750-seater Brussels indoor arena will be Altan, De Dannan, La Lugh and uileann piper and former Planxty member, Liam O'Flynn.
The four-hour concert will also feature singer Frances Black, Paddy Keenan and Paddy Glackin.
All artistes have pledged to give their services free of charge.
The show has been organised by representatives of the Irish community based in Belgium.
And this week, organiser Joe Hennon said the November 30th concert promised to be an outstanding night of music and craic - all in a good cause.
"We wanted to do something for Omagh and when we started ringing musicians back home to see if they could appear, the goodwill was tremendous" he added.
