"Bridge of Hope" charity album
The cream of rock and pop talent from both sides of the border have banded together on a new charity album, "Bridge of Hope," with all the proceeds to aid the victims of the Omagh bombing.
The title of the album, "Bridge of Hope" is taken from a poignant poem by 12 year old Scan McLaughlin from Buncrana who.. was killed in the bombing. The album has massive international appeal with names such as actor Liam Neeson featured on a poem by Seamus Heaney; Christy Moore and Bono sing "North and South of the Border"; Sinead O'Connor has revived the ABBA hit "Chiquitita"; hitmakers Ash are featured on "I'm Gonna Fall," while Divine Comedy sing "Sunrise." Other names who have contributed include Boyzone, The Corrs, The Cranberries, Van Morrison, U2 and local singer Juliet Turner.
"Bridge of Hope" will be issued also in America, Britain and throughout Europe in time for Christmas. Project coordinator Ross Graham said: "We want the album to be as musically strong as possible without in any way overshadowing the cause. With such an array of international hit-makers banding together, "Bridge of Hope" has the potential to hit the coveted international charts, and deserves to make it to that all important number one spot.
