OMAGH FUND BENEFITS FROM TRAVEL HICCUP
Omagh Fund benefits from travel 'hiccup'
A leading travel company has sent a cheque of £100 to the Omagh fund as a gesture of goodwill to four Strabane holiday makers who experienced a hiccup in their holiday plans.
Travelscope Air Holidays were the organisers of a holiday to Madeira in conjunction with the Belfast Telegraph, upon hearing of a hiccup at the last stages of the holiday, the company immediately accepted responsibility.
The travellers arrived back at Gatwick Airport after a most enjoyable week long holiday which had until then passed off without a hitch.
A party of twenty were scheduled to stay overnight at he airport hotel before continuing their journey home the next morning. The Strabane people were among a dozen travellers for whom, because of a breakdown in communication, no accommodation had been booked.
The matter took three hours to sort out and alternative arrangements made. The gesture of good will was made by Travelscope following the mix-up.
