WE WILL NEVER FORGET
We will never forget
SIR - I felt I had to write once again to extend my condolences to all those who lost loved ones, and those injured in the outrageous bombing of the town of Omagh.
As an ex-serviceman I served in Omagh in 1974. It was there I met and married a local girl and 22 years later are still in love.
On that tragic day my wife and son would have been visiting Omagh on holiday but unforeseen events prevented them from going home on holiday. I could have been writing to you knowing I could have lost both my wife and son. To thank God is an understatement and the good Lord protected my wife's family also.
How anyone could cause so much destruction to such a beautiful town as Omagh is beyond me.
On that fateful day we were all frantic because of family (McGuigans). Words can never express how we felt.
As troubles have occurred all-over Northern Ireland for many years you never expect it to happen in your own town. One year on our hearts go out to all the families of Omagh. We will never forget. The images and pictures will remain with us forever.
On receiving the 'Ulster Herald' from family members in Omagh we still look at the stories published. This will live with us forever.
God bless everyone in Omagh, and we are united in your time of grief and sorrow.
