Omagh parade to reroute
IN THE light of the commemorations of the Omagh tragedy, representatives of the Apprentice Boys of Omagh met with members of the
Anniversary Organising Group and members of Omagh Self Help Group.
Following the meeting, the local Apprentice Boys have agreed to parade from their traditional starting point at the Orange Hall along Drumragh Avenue to the bottom of Market Street where the parade will fall out. Members will walk to
the temporary garden of remembrance at the bomb site to pay their respects and reform above the temporary barrier in upper Market Street from where they will complete their traditional parade to the bus station to travel to Derry.
A statement issued this week read: "Mindful of the commemoration events taking place on Saturday afternoon and evening in Omagh, the Apprentice Boys have voluntarily cancelled their evening parade through the town."
