LOUGHMULHARN REUNION CANCELLED
Loughmulharn reunion cancelled
ORGANISERS of the Loughmulharn Past Pupils' Association have pointed out that the reunion organised for 15th August was cancelled as a mark of respect to the victims of the Omagh bombing.
A spokesperson for the group said many of the past pupils families were among those caught up in the atrocity.
"We are deeply saddened by the terrible suffering inflicted on the Skelton and Boyd families, who were part of this reunion occasion and we again extend our sympathy."
The group say that food which was prepared for the supper was instead distributed to the Incident Centre at the Leisure Centre and to some of the wake houses.
It is now planned to reschedule the social and hold a book launch later in the Autumn.
