AUSTRALIAN SCHOOLGIRLS SEND LETTERS OF SYMPATHY
Australian schoolgirls send letters of sympathy
AN Australian school which shares its name with a local village has sent messages of sympathy to the bereaved, and wishes for a full recovery to those injured in the Carnival Day bomb.
A number of year 3 pals from 'Fintona Girls' School', Melbourne, got together to send the following messages;
Dear Friends,
We are from Fintona Girls' School in Melbourne, Australia. We are greatly unsettled to hear of the horrific bomb blast which has happened in your town. We have experienced shock for you and we want you to know how sorry we feel. We live in a peaceful country and we find it hard to believe that such things can happen. Our concern for the families of the victims is great and we hope that their sorrow will soon be healed through a sense of community and prayer. We send you our warmest regards. Rachel.
A second letter from sixth form girls reads;
Dear Omagh residents,
On behalf of Year Six at Fintona Girls' School, I give these words to you. I give my deepest sympathy towards all of the people of Omagh, and pray that there won't be any more bombs in your country so that your families can live a happy life as we can here in Australia.
I go to a school called Fintona Girls' School, and because of this I feel partly involved because the town of Fintona is very close to Omagh.
I'm very sorry about what happened and I hope that it will not happen again.
