NEVER FORGOTTEN
Never forgotten
DEAR SIR, I just wanted to write down my feelings at this moment.
I, like millions of other people, have been watching the news from Saturday until now about the total devastation in Omagh. I find it very hard to put into words how I feel. When you watch a man on television breaking his heart over losing his beloved wife and other people crying over the fact that little innocent children have died for no reason you start to wonder why you still live in this country. I have always loved this country and would always miss it if I left. But why should anyone of us run away and leave it in the hands of murderers? This is the time when we will all stick together and show the very same murderers that no matter what they do they can't break our spirit and they can't divide us.
Banbridge, as a town, was devastated when we were bombed and innocent people lost their businesses but when we look at Omagh we can only be thankful that no lives were lost in Banbridge. I know that the hearts of all of the people in Banbridge, like the rest of the world, go out to the people of Omagh, Buncrana and the Spanish people who all lost wives, husbands, grandparents and children and just to let them know this will never, ever be forgotten.
