DROMORE SONG-WRITER TO RECORD PEACE SONG
DROMORE SONG-WRITER TO RECORD PEACE SONG
Whilst Tummery singer song-writer, Juliet Turner, was touching many hearts at the Omagh Remembrance Service with her rendering of the Julie Miller song 'Broken Things', just ten miles up the road in Dromore, her cousin, Gail McGowan, was making a similar impression with the large attendance at the local ceremony held in tribute to the victims of the Omagh bombing atrocity. Young student Gail sang her own composition, "Rebuilding the Dream", and such was the overall response that she has now decided to record the song as a single, with all proceeds going to the Omagh Memorial Fund. Although cousin Juliet has no plans to record 'Broken Things', Gail is looking forward to her date in a local recording studio, and is delighted to be able to assist the victims of the Omagh tragedy. A daughter of Ramsey & Elaine Turner, Galbally Road, Dromore, she is a talented singer and song-writer, and the release of her first single is eagerly awaited by her numerous friends not only in her native Dromore, but much further afield. Gail seems assured of a successful musical career. Below we publish the words of her moving peace song: -
REBUILDING THE DREAM
Beautiful lives and much treasured souls,
Cruelly snatched in a way that's so cold,
Leaving us hollow and empty inside,
For those who have died and are laid aside.
Moving lips are making no sound,
Words of regret fall like leaves to the ground,
Arms of comfort help dull the pain,
Miracle prayers will bring
healing again.
Keep on loving, keep on giving,
For we must build the dream,
For this land we live in,
Keep on hoping and keep on praying.
Don't give up, don't give up,
Til we have our dream.
Peace for the children who cry in the night,
For mothers and fathers lost from their sight,
Peace for the parents who's lonely tears fall,
Missing their children's laughter and call.
We're hoping for light at the end of the road,
We're praying for strength to carry our load,
We're standing together to see through the dark,
We want to make real the dream of our heart.
