MCGOWAN REPRESENTS OMAGH AT MOVING SERVICE
McGowan represents Omagh at 'moving' service
A LOCAL councillor has described as "very moving", a special memorial service held in Dublin in memory of those who died in the Omagh bombing.
CLLR Paddy McGowan and his wife Jean represented the local Council at the special service in St John's Church in the heart of Dublin's Liberties last Wednesday.
A packed congregation heard the head of the Augustinian order, Fr O'Shaughnessy express the condolences of the people of Dublin to those affected by the atrocity.
During the Mass - which was broadcast by RTE - the names of those who died were read out.
Cllr McGowan said: "What I found was very moving was the fact that 28 people and two young children came forward and lit candles for the dead and the unborn babies who were also among the victims.
"Afterwards, I thanked the people for their words of sympathy and offers of help" he added.
