OMAGH BOMB ATTACK - PUBLIC INFORMATION BULLETIN
CRIMINAL INJURIES CLAIMS
Any member of the public who sustained a physical or mental injury is reminded that they need to forthwith report their injury, either at their local police station or at the police desk which has been set up at the Council's Emergency Co-ordination Centre.
The Compensation Agency is anxious to do all that it can to assist the victims of this appalling act in receiving appropriate compensation. Representatives of the Agency will remain at the Emergency Centre as long as necessary to help people seeking advice about the claims process. Staff at the Agency's Belfast Headquarters are also available to answer any enquiries (telephone 01232-547417).
The Agency's general advice to the relatives of those who have lost their lives is that they should, as soon as they are able, contact a Solicitor of their choice to get them to act on their behalf. Their Solicitor will be able to assist them to take forward the claim by putting together the necessary details to support the claim such as the financial loss and expenses which will arise out of their loved ones' deaths.
For those who have been injured the Agency say that the person injured, or a relative on their behalf, should also get in touch with their Solicitor who will be able to assist them take forward their claim and obtain the necessary medical and other documentation needed to support the claim as it progresses.

The Centre is manned by representatives from The Compensation Agency, Police Compensation, Social Security Agency, Social Services, befriending support services, Planning Service and Council officials.
The opening days and hours for this week and next are as follows:
Week commencing 24th August: Monday to Saturday 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
Week commencing 31st August: Tuesday to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
BOOKS OF CONDOLENCE
Books of Condolence (loose leaf) are available at 28 venues throughout the District as well as through all the local churches. Full details were published in last week's press and are available on request from the Council's Corporate Services Department, telephone: 01662-245321, Ext. 292.
The Books of Condolence will close on Tuesday, 15th September. These, together with cards placed with floral tributes and other messages of sympathy from all over the world, will later go on public display.
MESSAGES OF SYMPATHY AND SUPPORT
Messages of sympathy and support have been pouring in from all over the world. The Council is deeply moved by the kindness and generosity which has been extended to the people of Omagh in the aftermath of the tragedy and would like to thank all those who took the time and trouble to write, phone, fax or e-mail.
OMAGH MEMORIAL FUND
Payments to the Omagh Memorial Fund can be made by cash, cheque, visa, postal order, or direct payment to Omagh District Council. Cheques to be made payable to "Omagh Memorial Fund." A facility to receive donations is also available at any Post Office, Account Freepay 3050.
The Memorial Fund account is at: First Trust Bank Ltd., High Street, Omagh, Account No. 55876365, Sort Code 93 81 30.
The general purpose of the Trust will be at the discretion of the Trustees to apply the Fund for the benefit of those who died or were injured as a result of the tragedy, their relatives and dependants and also those persons who have been adversely affected by the tragedy. It will also be used at the discretion of the Trustees to provide suitable memorials and activities or to support appropriate charities or charitable purposes.
It would greatly assist the fundraising if all fundraising initiatives were notified to the Council.
OFFERS OF ASSISTANCE
Numerous offers of assistance in the form of accommodation for relatives visiting family members in hospital, transport and holiday breaks for bomb victims continue to flood in. Further details are available on request from Social Services, Tel: 01662-255050 or the Council's Development Department at 01662-245321 Ext. 314.
