Call for the establishment of an air-ambulance
FROM the murder, misery, and mayhem suffered by the people of Omagh, though it seems incredible at present, something positive can emerge, that is the view of local man, Geoffrey Simpson.
Mr Simpson has called for the establishment of an air ambulance to serve the West. He said that such a service, in conjunction with the upgrading of the County Hospital, would be a fitting memorial to those killed and maimed.
Additionally, he called for First Aid training in schools and the development of portable photographic/computer links to assist consultants in the rapid remote diagnosis of illness and casualty assessment.
Moreover, Mr Simpson urged that the goodwill which was evident in the aftermath of the atrocity to be built upon to improve society, and for a move away from attitudes from the past decades towards the new century.
