STAFF ENCOURAGED BY MESSAGES OF SUPPORT
Staff encouraged by messages of support
THE STAFF within Tyrone County Hospital have been encouraged and supported by messages and flowers from around the world. We are greatly appreciative to receive these thoughts from so many as we continue to respond to the needs of those injured on Saturday.
The following information on our services will be important to the local Omagh community:
The hospital will be reopening outpatient services for clinics scheduled on Wednesday, 19th August 1998. Appointments are being re-arranged for the patients affected by those clinics cancelled.
The hospital remains open for emergency admissions. However, to alleviate pressure on our nursing and medical staff, elective surgery is cancelled for the remainder of the week.
A Community Trauma Service for members of the public can now be accessed through the Omagh Emergency Centre established at High Street, Omagh, at the site of the former Training and Employment Agency. The telephone number is 01662 262599.
The number of patients receiving treatment in our hospitals is as follows: Tyrone County Hospital Omagh, 15; Erne Hospital, Enniskillen, 16.
The Trust is arranging a number of opportunities for our staff to help them cope with the experience of managing the tragic circumstances of the past few days.
We are acknowledging that we will need time to fully recover. However, foremost in our thoughts are those victims and their families who have been injured and bereaved.
