MP left devastated by bombing

WEST Tyrone MP, William Thompson said he was "devastated" at the carnage brought to the streets of Omagh on what had been a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
The local Member of Parliament was speaking as he arrived at Tyrone County Hospital on Saturday evening to comfort relatives of those killed and injured.
"It's a tremendous tragedy, totally unbelievable.
"I went to the scene of the explosion while the rescue was going on and saw members of the rescue services visibly shocked at what they had witnessed.
"Many have been killed, many more seriously injured. Their lives will never be the same again."
Mr Thompson said he had just spoken to a woman whose child had been caught up in the blast.
Although the youngster had been showered with glass, thankfully he was not seriously injured.
"To those responsible I would say if they could only see the suffering here this evening and the homes that have been devastated, they may think twice about what they have done.
"Perhaps their conscience will tell them the act they carried out was terrible wrong" he added.
