TRAUMA TEAM TO OFFER SUPPORT

Trauma team to offer support

As a result of the Omagh bombing the Sperrin Lakeland Trust, in co-operation with a number of voluntary organisations, have established a Community Trauma Team to support individuals and families and a wider community. The Community Trauma Team can be contacted at the Omagh Emergency Co-Ordination Centre, High Street, Omagh Tel. No. (01662) 252599.
Commenting on the distress caused by the bombing David Bolton, Director of Community Care said: "Many of those who provided help at the scene, those who brought people to hospital and those who provided care and support to the injured, the dying and the bereaved have been deeply distressed by what they have seen and heard. Others not directly involved have also suffered distress. Our community is mourning. "Through the Community Trauma Team we hope to support people at this time of uncertainty, distress and sadness. We are especially mindful about the impact of the bombing on children and young people."
