McLaughlin condemns atrocity
Dear Editor,
I write to outline my utter condemnation of the Scum who planted the massive bomb at Market Street in Omagh on Saturday, 15th August killing 28 innocent people, which included both children and adults and seriously injuring many others for life, not forgetting those who are left with the nightmare of having witnessed this terrible carnage.
There is no doubt in my mind that the Scum who planted the bomb did so to create as much fatality as possible. These Scumbags would have been fully aware of the fact that there was a Community Festival Carnival in Omagh on this day, which would include a lot of children. This barbaric act with Saturday's bomb. The Scum who murdered and destroyed the lives of those people in Omagh did so to destroy the people's faith, hope and belief in the Good Friday Agreement but they should realise that the people of this area will not be directed away from the Good Friday Agreement, which is seen as bringing peace and stability to our children and grandchildren.
Both the Irish and British Government must never allow such an atrocity to take place on this Island again. There must be no stone left unturned in bringing to justice the Scum who murdered the people in Omagh Town.
There has to be an all out effort to bring lasting peace to Northern Ireland, which in turn, will bring security and prosperity to our children. Praise has to go to the Surgeons, Nurses, Doctors etc. of the Tyrone County Hospital and the other hospitals involved in caring for the seriously injured, also the Ambulance Men, R.U.C., Army, Bus Drivers and Taxi Drivers and all the lay people who helped the injured and their families on this devastating day.
I would also wish to point out the disgust I feel at those who are trying to make political gains out of this, even before the funerals have taken place.
