PRIEST APPEALS FOR PARAMILITARIES TO REVEAL LOCATIONS OF MISSING VICTIMS
Priest appeals for paramilitaries to reveal locations of missing victims
AN Omagh-born priest who tended the dead and dying has urged paramilitaries to reveal where the North's 'disappeared' have been buried.
Fr Donal Gillespie has issued the appeal after witnessing at first hand, the anguish of families left waiting hours and days to learn the fate of their loved ones.
The Cardiff-based curate called for an immediate release of information on the whereabouts of unmarked graves.
Dozens of bodies are believed to have been buried at locations throughout the North within the past 30 years.
And Fr Gillespie believes the time is now right to reveal details so families' minds can be put at ease.
He said "I have spoken to many families in Omagh throughout the weekend and know exactly the nightmare they have gone through. "Since then I have visited those same families who have lost relatives in this tragedy.
"These families now have some sort of comfort, whereas many grieving relatives throughout the North do not have that peace of mind."
