Evacuated not to safety, but to her death
The funeral will take place this morning of a 21 year old Omagh girl who died in Saturday's bomb explosion after being evacuated from the shop she worked in.
The funeral service of Julia Hughes, from Beltany Road, is to be held at Omagh Methodist Church at 11.45am followed by cremation at Roselawn at 3pm.
Julia had been working in Image Xpress at High Street on Saturday afternoon when the bombscare alert began. She left the shop and made her way towards Market Street
The 21 year old had been studying at Dundee University and was home to spend the summer holidays with her family.
She was due to begin the final honours year of a Bachelor of Accountancy and Business Finance degree.
She was regarded as one of the university's brightest students- "conscientious, popular and friendly."
In the past few days at her parent's home there was a constant stream of young friends coming to pay their respects, Helen and Alec, who were too distressed to speak.
One young girl burst into tears as she described Julia as "bubbly, always game for a laugh."
Julia was a popular girl in the town, she said, and kept in touch with her friends, despite being away at University.
