Funeral of loving and caring mother
A LOVING and caring mother and wife was laid to rest yesterday (Wednesday) following a service in Mayne Methodist Church.
Olive Hawkes of Fecarry Road, Omagh, was one of the many who were killed in Saturday's blast, but who was one of the last to be named.
The sixty year old woman is the wife of Percy Hawkes and the mother of Mandy (Walker) and Mark.
Her husband, Percy was trying to come to terms with the tragic death and was being comforted by his family and close friends this week.
Mrs Hawkes had gone into Omagh to do some messages and was caught up in the blast which ripped through the heart of the town.
The deceased worked on the farm with her husband at Mayne and was a prominent member of the Church.
It was at Mayne Methodist Church that a funeral service was held for Mrs Hawkes on Wednesday afternoon where a large crowd turned out to pay their final respects to this popular woman who was well liked by all who knew her.
Afterwards she was laid to rest in Cappagh Parish Church graveyard.
