No official contact made with police over phone hacking concerns

NO official contact has yet been made with police by the majority of the Omagh families amid concerns that they could have been victims of the News of the World phone hacking.
But Victor Barker, whose young son, James was among the victims, said he had been in contact with the Metropolitan police on the matter.
Another of those bereaved in the 1998 atrocity, Michael Gallagher, said that as yet there was no direct evidence that any of those bereaved by the Omagh bomb or other murders in Northern Ireland had their phones hacked into.
"Perhaps more information about this will come to light if and when there are Public Inquiries held," he said.
"These people had no hesitation in listening into private conversations and messages that people were leaving. It has crossed my mind.
"There is anxiety there and doubts when you learn that these people can intercept your phone calls or your messages.
