Talks to take place on Omagh bomb inquiry

TALKS are to take place next month between family members of those killed in the Omagh Bombing with Minister of State for Northern Ireland, Hugo Swire.
He revealed details of the informal discussions while attending yesterday's 12th Anniversary Service to remember and honour
those who died in the 1998 atrocity and those still suffering.
But Omagh Support and Self Help Group has outlined its determination to accept nothing less than a full public inquiry headed by the British and Irish Governments.
Speaking following the service, which was also attended by the Peter Power, Minister of State in the Republic and the Cllr Michael Grant, Deputy Mayor of Buncrana Town Council, Mr Swire, said he was pleased to have come to Omagh.
"The Secretary of State (Owen Paterson) and myself will be meeting with the families towards the end of September.
"That will be the proper place to discuss a public inquiry with them," he said.
"It is very clear that emotions are still very raw in what was one of the most appalling tragedies," he added.
Michael Gallagher of the Omagh Support and Self Help Group said a full public inquiry would be the only way of providing closure for the families affected.
