THE Omagh film is the latest in a string of movies and TV dramas dealing with events from Northern Ireland's last 30 violent years.
Several recent dramas have attempted to tell the stories of notorious incidents and atrocities.
Channel 4 and ITV both produced films about Bloody Sunday and the BBC produced a telefilm based on the Holy Cross dispute of September 2001, in which riots broke out over the rights of Catholic primary schoolgirls to walk to school through Protestant areas of Belfast.
It was screened last week to both critical acclaim and condemnation.
Likewise, the Bloody Sunday films provoked passionate responses from those who loved and hated them.
Even the big screen has seen its share of Troubles based productions - In The Name of the Father; Some Mother's Son, The Boxer and The Crying Game, for examples.
